Exercise is Just the Cherry on Top
It’s important to rank order the factors we can control to preserve resources such as time, money and energy. In Australia and many industrialised countries, exercise is marketed and sold as the one-stop solution to health, well-being and weight management. Now, as an exercise specialist, I’ll be the first to acknowledge the merits of including exercise in our regime however, the factors which would yield the biggest return on investment would be sleep and nutrition.
Focussing on these two areas can free up the guilt experienced when we don’t exercise or exercise enough. Sleep and nutrition are your foundational factors and exercise is the adjunct.
You can’t out-train poor sleep or poor diet.
But you can exercise for fun!
